I am trying to put together a short pamphlet showing charismatic manifestations / teachings in the lives of the saints. I have a general idea about what I would like to put there but do need some help in finding the exact references. I was wondering if anyone can help me.
here are the quotes I am looking for:
1. St. Ignatius of Loyola was known to pray over people (or just talk to them) and they would end up weeping before him and also be "slain in the Spirit" (fall over). Does anyone have quotes that speak of this?
2. In his book the Spiritual Life, Tanquerey is said to have taught about spiritual gifts like tongues and holy laughter. Is there something online to find these portions of his teaching?
these two will help so much!
Thanks for you support!
with love in Jesus and Mary,
Ben |

I've read where St Ignatius saw this manifestation but where that was documented is a puzzle.
Long ago I found an electronic version of Adolph Tanqueray's The Spiritual Life on the Web. I searched for it again but couldn't find it.
I'll send you what I have and let you plow through it.
More later, |

Ed, thank you for this help.
If you have anything else that I could use for this project, it would be much appreciated. I know a little about St. Teresa of Avila and tongues from an earlier discussion we had here a while back, but any thing else would be helpful.
btw, do you remember any of the details about what was happening when St. Ignatius prayed with people?
Thank you so much brother |
